What We Offer
Marketing for Change offers four- and six-month paid internships in our offices in Alexandria, VA, and Orlando and Tallahassee, FL. Interns are immediately integrated into project teams, producing reports, assisting with research, coordinating activities and occasionally even writing ad or PR copy, designing ads and developing digital products.
We are seeking interns interested in more than errand running and Internet research. As a small firm working on a national scale, we rely on interns to add creativity and intelligence to our marketing and communication teams. We want people who are passionate about the work and eager to learn. We want doers.
For our creative, research and marketing interns, college graduates and graduate students in communications, journalism, marketing, research, psychology, design or creative writing programs are preferred, but we will also consider undergraduates in their junior or senior years with demonstrated abilities in research, marketing or advertising. Excellent writing and analytic skills are essential for any internship. Besides seeking diversity in our workplace, we prefer interns who are personable, creative, bring a good sense of humor, and are just plain nice.
PR and Digital Media Assistant (Summer and Fall 2018)
SalterMitchell PR is hiring college juniors, seniors and graduate students to join our team for an internship in Florida’s capital city. We’ve created an environment to help you grow professionally and become Fluent in Floridian. Our internships are very hands-on and you will be paired with an experienced member of our staff to work on a variety of client projects across the state. We work with Fortune 500 companies like Verizon and Bank of America, non-profits like No Kid Hungry and the International Rhino Foundation, and associations like the Florida Police Chiefs and the Florida Independent Benefits Council. We’re looking for individuals who are self-starters, detailed-oriented, results-driven, creative, and fun. (NOTE: If you are not a problem-solver and are looking for someone to teach you everything step-by-step, then our agency is not for you.)
As a PR and Digital Media Assistant, you will help implement campaigns using paid, earned, shared and owned methods including public relations, media relations, digital and social media, graphic design, video production, research, content creation, SEO, SEM, analytics and data optimization and event management.
This is a paid position and we encourage students to use this internship for academic credit.
20-25 hours a week
Length of Internship:
12-16 weeks (depending on start date)
Summer: May 1, 2018 - August 31, 2018
Fall: September 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018
